If you don’t have enough confidence in yourself, then your actions will most likely result in failure. 1. Speak positively about yourself.

The words that come out of your mouth have a lot of power. When you speak positively about yourself, you increase your confidence. Every time you say something like “I can’t do this” or “I’m not good enough”, you are actually programming your mind to think that way. However, when you say things like “I am capable and I can do this” then your mind will believe that. Endless studies have been conducted to prove the power of positive thinking. So start talking positively about yourself in order to increase your confidence!

2. Assume good intent for others.

It’s hard to increase your confidence when you don’t trust other people. It’s even harder when it feels like everyone is out to get you or take something from you. But as much as we would like to, we can’t live in a bubble and not interact with others. And the more interactions we have, the more opportunities there are for conflict and misunderstandings. That doesn’t mean that those conflicts will happen; but if they do, then assuming good intent on behalf of others can help increase our own confidence and make us feel safer and less threatened because we know no one has an ulterior motive against us.

3. Exercise daily.

It is said that we only use 10% of our brain. And so, it stands to reason that we can increase confidence by using more of the brain.

It’s true: there are many ways to increase self-confidence and happiness. But if you ask me, nothing will do more for your level of confidence than getting your body moving on a regular basis. Exercising daily has been shown to increase mood and energy levels while decreasing stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline which get released when under pressure or feeling threatened. It also increases serotonin, one of the chemicals in our brains responsible for regulating moods such as anxiety and depression – meaning less fear! Plus, exercise releases endorphins which make us feel good about ourselves again after a particularly anxiety-inducing day.

Exercise doesn’t have to be an hour long, high intensity training session (although that does help increase confidence levels). Just breaking a sweat for 30 minutes daily can increase your confidence in most areas of your life by making you feel more healthy and happy – the two most important factors for increasing self-confidence. You don’t even have to leave your living room – there are plenty of great at-home exercises you can do!

4. Act as if.

Acting as if means behaving in a way that makes you feel confident despite any fears or doubts you may be feeling. For example, if you are nervous about a presentation but decide to “act as if” you expect yourself to succeed and increase your confidence, then you will likely increase your actual ability. So increase your self-confidence by acting as if!

5. Think back on past successes.

The best way to increase confidence is to think back on past successes. Think of all the things you’ve done in your life that led up to this moment, and remind yourself of how far you’ve come. It will make it easier for you to believe in yourself when what seems like an impossible task comes along.

Hannah Brenner, a professor at Ohio State University, advised to “tell yourself something you’re good at—and then remind yourself of your value.”

A lot of people think that self-esteem comes naturally as you grow older. In fact, it’s the opposite. The older you get, the more you realize how much work it takes to become who you want to be.

6. Surround yourself with positive people.

There are many different ways to increase your confidence, but one of the most important is surrounding yourself with positive people.

If you’re constantly surrounded by negative people who criticize everything you do and put you down for your mistakes, then it’s no wonder that you feel like a failure all the time. On the other hand, if you surround yourself with supportive friends and family members who encourage your dreams and don’t judge or criticize when things go wrong–well, then maybe it’ll be easier to believe in yourself again. Not only will these positive people help increase your self-esteem by giving you lots of encouragement, they’ll also create an environment where risk-taking is encouraged so that even more opportunities can open up for success!

7. Seek out compliments.

The world is full of people who will tell you where you went wrong. You may even be one of them. But the truth is that we all need a little encouragement from time to time, and it’s not always easy to get it in your day-to-day life. That’s why seeking out compliments can increase confidence and help you feel more deserving of success, happiness and love. It sounds simple enough: just ask someone for a compliment! But here are some tips on how to make this strategy work for you every time.

1) Start with something small or mundane – maybe an outfit or hairstyle that looks good today. Don’t start asking about your whole life right off the bat.

2) When it comes to asking, don’t be afraid to ask a stranger or someone you hardly know. You never know what they might say.

3) If you’re going for a compliment from someone you’re closer with, pick an appropriate time and place. This isn’t the time to ask your spouse if they think you’re a good cook while you’re in the kitchen.

4) Make sure your tone is positive and upbeat. Nobody wants to give a compliment to someone who sounds like they’re expecting it to be shot down.

5) If the other person doesn’t seem too keen on giving compliments, don’t push it. Some people just aren’t very good at it, and that’s okay.
